Invest in our future
Vote YES on all three municipal ballot measures: 3C, 3D, and 3E
All three of these measures would make Longmont a better place to live. We can't afford not to make this investment in our future.
3C: A new library branch
Our current library was built to serve 68,000 residents. Almost 100,000 people live here, and while our library has managed the growth exceptionally well, a city our size needs more than one branch.
3D: A performing arts center
Longmont has a number of performing arts groups, but no real venue. A nonprofit called the Longmont Alliance for Arts and Entertainment has stepped up to raise money to build a performing arts center, and the taxes from this ballot measure would only kick in after the nonprofit has raised $35 million. For questions, see the Longmont Alliance for Arts and Entertainment's great FAQ.
3E: A new rec center
This measure would fund a new rec center at Dry Creek on the west side of town, as well as enable the YMCA to build a new facility at the current Centennial pool location. Our current rec center is great, but nearby towns like Berthoud and Erie have better ones, and we don't want to fall behind.
